Our party is convinced in our hearts that if Solomon Islands fails to stand with Israel that is the end of our nation.
Solomon Islands United Party wing leader Mr. Moffat Konofilia made this statement last week in Honiara last week.
“We have to show that we are inextricably entwined, that as a nation we have been blessed because of our relationship with Israel, and if we reject Israel, then there is a curse that comes into play,” Mr. Konofilia affirmed.
He added that, our relationship with Israel is one of their fundamental principles in their policy platform as they revive this very old party (SIUP) which founded by the current Speaker of the Parliament Sir Peter Kenilorea.
“Our party believe very strongly the verse from Genesis 12:3, we can assure these nation that we can receive blessing if we bless Israel, it is a strong and beautiful principle,” Mr. Konofilia confidently told the local media.
He stated that, Solomon Islands government has failed miserably to support Israel into the United Nation and other Organizations around the world today.
“It is very clear, those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed,” Mr. Konofilia said.
He said if SIUP have a chance to be part of the new government, this Israel Policy will definitely put into action.
“Solomon Islands United Party wants this nation to be blessed and not cursed,” Mr. Konofilia stated.
When asked if these policies have to do with the claims that Malaita came from the lost tribe of Jews, Konofilia make it straight and sound that, this ‘Israel Policy’ has nothing to do with the claims of Malaita people.
“If we professed to be a Christian nation then let’s be realistic and obey the word of God,” Mr. Konofilia said.
Meanwhile, Robert Luiramo who will be contesting the Fataleka seat against the Caretaker Minister for Development Planning and Aid Coordination and also the President of the Solomon Islands Democratic Party Mr. Steve Abana said, he believed that the Israel Policy is the missing ingredients of our instability governments.
“I believe SIUP is in the right direction to remove the curse from our shores only if we pledge to support Israel at any cost,” Mr. Luiramo confidently said.
He also added that, our support for Israel does not mean we want to gain material benefits or money from Israel but it is stated plain and clear, “those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed.”
